Lifelist Update

In episode 73, the Pirates update the status of their 2022 lifelist and discuss their upcoming adventures. What fun things are in the works? What still needs to be scheduled? Is Diggerland in the near future? 

Here's a reminder of our lifelist for 2022 - with updates on each.... 

Completed

  • Float room - Done (reactions were mixed).
  • Reverse Skydiving - Scheduled and completed before the release of this episode! Stay tuned for a recap in episode 74!
  • Bungee Aerobics - Scheduled and completed before the release of this episode! Stay tuned for a recap in episode 74! 


Scheduled/In Progress

  • Pirate Life Podcast Tshirts - Orders being accepted through June 30. Email thepiratelifepodcast@gmail.com. Small through XL are $18, 2X is $20.
  • Beach Day/Duckaneer - Booked! We are heading to Ocean City in August for a combined beach day/Duckaneer adventure!
  • Fitbodies Teaching Vacation - Scheduled! We are heading to Punta Cana in October! Shawna will be the on-site fitness pro at Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa!
  • Quarterly podcast meetings - On schedule!

Still Slacking

  • Self Defense Class - We need some leads! Anyone have any suggestions for classes happening in the Central PA area??
  • Rage Room - Shawna is ready, but Adrienne has to overcome her fear after a rage room adventure gone wrong!
  • Diggerland - This adventure remains elusive. Will we EVER make it to Diggerland?

Stress Relief

Denise is back from her month of vacation, Shawna has embraced a new running challenge, and Adrienne made it back from Fort Myers. But amidst their adventures, STRESS still managed to make an unwelcome appearance. In episode 72, the pirates talk about STRESS RELIEF and share some of their favorite stress-relief resources!  

Feeling stressed? PACEs Connection encourages us to do the following... 

  • Pay attention to how stress affects us. Do we have physical symptoms like headaches? Are we compelled to clean closets? 
  • Be kind to ourselves. 
  • Do one thing each day that brings us joy: Laugh at a cat video, read a book, do a puzzle, buy yourself flowers, reach out to someone you care about, have a cup of tea! 
  • Get support/Learn more.

Leslie Stephens offers a weekly blog called Morning Person, and suggests a two-day process to reset and recharge when we are feeling overwhelmed. 

  • DAY 1 - RESET... Ask yourself, "What do I need to finish, to be able to completely enjoy myself tomorrow?" For Leslie, this includes cleaning out the fridge, meal prep, chasing inbox "almost-zero," weeding, cleaning couches/rugs, straightening up, and working out (the pirates embraced a slightly shorter list!)

  • DAY 2 - RECHARGE... This day is all about relaxation! Leslie hits the dog park, bikes to brunch, plants seeds in her garden, takes a yoga class, and enjoys dinner and ice cream
